RECENT PROJECTS
During 2008-2009, Susan worked with the Knight News Challenge team at The Knight Foundation to manage and evangelize this year's competition, which gives away $5MM in funding to innovative ideas that support news and dialogue in specific geographic communities. Many of her deliverable--besides helping to manage the overall program--were to broaden the outreach and awareness of the program among technologists and others outside of online journalism, to strengthen the international applications, and to improve the quality of the applications overall.
To make this happen, Susan created a social media strategy that used blogging, twitter, facebook, flickr, seesmic, an innovative online mentoring program and incubator space and real world meet-ups to spread the word and educate and inform potential applicants. The program was amazingly successful is the basis of a case study and a paper entitled Tools for Transformation Susan is currently writing.
Having learned so much about how to leverage social media for marketing programs and branding, Susan is eager to engage with foundations, businesses and brands both to design and execute programs for them, and to teach them these skills She offers both one day workshops with follow-up access and ongoing consulting in this area.
If you'd like to use social media to create more business opportunities to drive traffic and increase unique visitors, and you are looking for someone experienced to work with, please contact Susan.
