Delighted to see fellow TechStars alums Foodzie in the Times today.
Love the re-positioning in this down economy of Foodzie from “artisan food producers” (aka expensive to ship luxury goods) to “online farmer’s market (“send away for hand-made chocolates to go with your brand new worm-bin shipment”).
Say Rob LaFavre in the piece: “You get a similar experience to a farmers market, when you get the
opportunity to meet farmers, but it is much more scalable and you get a
better selection. Ninety-seven
percent of the country does not have this kind of access to artisan
foodmakers.”
