Two weeks on vacation–and what now? OakLoc

Vacation was GREAT. Being offline in a house on a lake was superb, as as hiking, boating, swimming, cooking and writing the specs for Oakland Local. Yep, nothing like vacation for planning your next big adventure.

I’m working this summer, along with a team of people, to launch Oakland Local, a news & community hub for Oakland. It’s exciting to move back into building something like this; my first life in local and community was at Scholastic, with Scholastic Network; in 1993; then New Jersey Online in 1996, then Netscape.com….this feels like a good full circle.

What’s on the docket now?

  • Finishing the spec
  • Working with the developers
  • Making it happen.

Good luck Susan with your Oakland Local community. Hope you’ll continuously serve your people and provide reliable facts. In times of recession, taking up vacation is sometimes out of the picture. But who cares! We need time to relax with all this stressful news about financial crisis and all-day work. Well whenever you want to unwind and don’t have money to do so, there is still another option. And that is you can get short-term loans if you need money now. There is no harm to treat your self one’s in a while. And taking up vacation and doing hiking or fishing will be healthy for your body.
