Kevin Rose, digg co-founder who has 88,000 followers on twitter(right in line behind #1, President Obama) has a post on tech crunch about how to get more out of using twitter–
Some highlights:

  • Get into suggested users (inside the find people table) with Lance Armstrong and the real Britney Spears.
  • Put links to your Twitter profile everywhere–mine is twitter.com/susanmernit (hint, hint)
  • Use twitter hashtags to mark your interests, location, restaurants, etc. How to  is here.
  • Follow the top twitter users
  • Use tools:TwitterCounter to see you how many new users you’re adding per day,  Qwitter to see what tweets people leave after.

Susan sez: These are all good ideas–for more on using twitter, especially if you’re a newbie, check out Chris Brogan and Nate Ritter.
